Pasture Raised Chicken Eggs
Our laying chickens come to us as day old chicks that spend their
first few weeks in a heated brooder house and are then moved
to a larger hoop structure with deep bedding. When the ladies
approach laying age they are then moved out on pasture to a mobile
house that they lay eggs in during the day and take shelter in at night.
The flocks are moved once a week to a new spot on the pasture,
usually following the cows. This regular movement allows the birds
access to lots of fresh grass to eat which gives their yolks a nice deep
golden color. The laying chickens are fed a Certified Organic SOY-FREE,
GMO-Free, Locally Milled Feed as well as oats, barley or wheat depending
on the season and local availability. We never, ever feed medications
to any of our birds and never use chlorine or chemicals to clean the eggs...
