Fresh-Picked Produce
When producing vegetables and fruit we use Organic methods.
This means that we never use petrochemical fertilizers or pesticides.
The bulk of the fertilizer we use is generated on the farm from our
compost piles and animal wastes. Occasionally, we may also use an
Organic approved fertilizer like fish emulsion or bone meal.
To control pests we use a holistic approach.
That means that we; pick species and varieties suited to our area,
rotate plantings to decrease the build-up of pests in a garden plot,
provide optimal conditions for the plants to thrive, use mechanical
methods to control pests (ie: row-covers or manual removal)
and if necessary Organic approved sprays.
We sell our fresh-picked produce by the share through our Produce CSA
A share consists of a box of fresh-picked produce every week for 20 weeks (June-Oct)
